The Knoxville News-Sentinel has an article about a Roane County Black Bear. Too bad this is how we find out. Anyone else spotted a bear here?

Spotted bear scat last year
Spotted bear scat last year in a neighborhood near downtown Kingston. Showed a few people and swore then to secrecy. Didn't see the bear.
I've seen bear sign several times at Whites Creek but not the bear. Some friends dodged one on I40 early one morning while commuting to Sparta. They're here and do their dead level best to avoid us. We see them when they mess up.
I'll certainly be more careful when walking North Boundary!
Mushy
Bears will normally do
Bears will normally do everything possible to avoid humans. I wouldn't give a second thought to possible danger because it is vanishingly small to nonexistent. I consider it a privilege and a gift when I see a bear in the wild.
