From Commissioner Ellis:

Although it was very tempting to run for the Tennessee House of Representative for the 32nd District after much prayer and consultation with my family I have decided I will not be running. The timing is not right for me or my family due to my first obligation, my family. My son, Bryson, is 6 years old and to run for State Representative will require sacrificing too many nights away from my son and family. Further, I am very proud to serve the 2nd District, on the Roane County Commission. Because I take my commitment to my constitutes very serious, I was elected to represent them on County Commission until 2014, I fully intend to fulfill that commitment, as I enjoy representing District 2 on the County Commission and remain humbled to be able to do so. I am a 6th generation Roane County native and love Roane County with all my heart. My work to make Roane County a better place for families and employers is a substantial task yet I remain committed to Roane County. We have our challenges ahead as Roane County is now represented by two State Representative seats and I am driven, as are so many County residents, to keep Roane County together as a single focus for improvement. At this time, I would like to thank everyone who called and emailed me encouraging words to run for State Representative.

Randy Ellis
Roane County Commissioner District 2

Commendable Randy!

Commendable to think of family first Randy. You can't get those years back!
