There about four times as many Irish in the USA as there are in Ireland, where population numbers have never recovered from the great famine of the 19th century.

Saint Patrick wasn't Irish. He was a Brit, brought to Ireland as a slave.

I was born in Dublin, GA of carpetbagger descent. I'm not Irish either but that doesn't stop me from drinking my Guinness and thumping my bohdran. The South and Irish can't be separated and here's proof:
