West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department (WRCVFD) is getting a grant from FEMA for a much-needed pumper truck.

Back in March and April of 2008, community members donated over $10,000 in "pumper pledges" to go toward the required 5% matching funds. The matching funds monies were raised; now, nearly two years later, the community can celebrate.

Many thanks to all who contributed to the pumper pledge campaign and who helped with the grant effort.

Special thanks go to Chief Charlie Redwine of WRCVFD who wrote the grant application.

Delivery of the pumper truck is expected sometime in the 4th quarter of 2010.
