No Sales Tax at West Roane VFD Fireworks Sale in Wal-Mart Parking Lot

Another fireworks seller is advertising in the Roane County News that he will pay the sales tax on all purchases.

Remember that there is no sales tax on fireworks at the West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department (WRCVFD) sale in the Wal-Mart parking lot. WRCVFD is an IRS 501(c)(3) charity and under Tennessee law does not collect sales tax on sales in its fireworks tent.

Please remember to support your local fire department. The hardworking volunteers of West Roane VFD are doing all they can to keep the Department going in these rough financial times. Donations have been way down this year--from about $53k last year to under $14k this year!--while fires and First Responder medical emergencies know no recession.

If you choose to buy fireworks this year, please get them from West Roane VFD's tent in the Wal-Mart lot.
