The receiving and memorial service are to be held today (Link...); the First Annual Charlie Mead Memorial Fourth of July Celebration is to be held at the Mead home outside Rockwood on July 4.

There was a huge crowd of folks at the West Roane Volunteer Fire Station this evening. The Charlie Mead stories I heard standing in the receiving line would fill an encyclopedia...A humor encyclopedia at that.

Bye Charlie, old friend. You were the best Charlie Mead there ever was!
