…funny how the "Gain and loss" doesn't highlight the shallows at the mouth of the Emory, or at the "low dam" in the Clinch. Looks like summer's cool bottom waters from the Clinch will be flowing downstream, not up the Emory to KIF. Expect TVA to want to dredge right away.

Direct Links

Actually, this is one time that TVA's interest in getting cool water to the intake and my interest, in getting the most easily lost downstream ash out of the Emory, converge.

Here are direct links (Thanks, SFC) but take them with a grain of ash. Very general conclusions can be drawn but use big round numbers.

Ash from TVA Yes, but care for ORNL stuff

Obviously most "stakeholders" are together on this one. Reduced electrical generation at Kingston Fossil (KIF) drives up rates, TVA's dependancies on outside power suppliers, etc. I see in the reports that the EPA OSC is bringing in outside expertise on waste removal from the rivers. I'm hopeful.
