The Ladd Landing Greenway is done except for some squabbling between the engineering contractor and the bridge contractor regarding a handrail that should have been on the bridge in the first place. Hikers and bikers can access the entire trail except for the bridge itself, which is done except for the aforementioned hand rail. The trail itself is a fabulous gift to Kingston and Roane County. I'll have pictures soon.

And from From TVA:

Work on Phase 1 of Lakeshore Park continues. Drier weather has allowed workers to lay down material prior to paving, and paving began Thursday, May 16, 2013. It is estimated to take three to four days to complete the first phase of paving. Workers also began cutting the trails on the Emory River side of Lakeshore Drive.

Other notes from TVA:

Dock Setting Barge

A large work barge will be seen in the Lakeshore Park area as crews set the pylons for the fishing piers and courtesy docks over the next few days.

Public Meeting Scheduled

A public meeting will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Roane County High Auditorium beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will be an update on the project, as well as information about the Long Term Monitoring Plan.

Flexible Liner Tests Successful

Tests were conducted last week in the ash storage cell so quality control managers and the flexible liner provider could agree on the optimum surface conditions for the upcoming liner application. The flexible liner will cover the entire ash storage cell to prevent rainwater from seeping into the stored ash in the future.
