An absolutely great photo of where we live!! But with all of the extremely bright, glary, misdirected lighting at night, we're quickly losing our oldest cultural heritage, the dark night sky.
It's really very easy to regain this view. All we have to do is pass comprenhensive lighting ordinances - Roane County comes to mind - all across the U.S. and in less time than one would think the Milky Way will once more become visible from our backyards. Responsible outdoor lighting and a Starry Night Sky, they just go together!
