Segment 7 Work to Begin on Perimeter Wall Stabilization

Beginning next week, the contractor constructing the perimeter wall stabilization will be moving large equipment near the road to begin the construction of Segment 7 of the containment wall. Large pieces of heavy equipment will be operating just inside the TVA property along Swan Pond Road, between the intersection of Swan Pond Circle and the north Kingston plant entrance. It is expected to remain there until August to complete this segment of the perimeter wall.

There should be no traffic delays associated with this phase of the cleanup process, however, because large pieces of equipment will be in close proximity to the road, motorists could be easily distracted while driving along Swan Pond Road. We are asking everyone who travels along Swan Pond Road daily to be aware of the work going on, and to drive safely on this stretch of road. Notice of the work will also be placed in the Roane County News.
