From Rep. Hurley's FaceBook wall ((link...)):

"Bill Kistner: Saw you in Lenoir City this morning... nice Bimmer! But put the windows down when you have the top down... looks silly with them up! LOL
Monday at 2:24pm"

"TN State Representative Julia C Hurley: hahaha... it keeps the wind down so I can still talk on my vcell phone! You know I can't go without that Blackberry!

She wouldn't need the windows up that much to reduce the wind if the car were stopped. I sincerely hope she is not talking on her cell while driving. :(

This is not the image we need to represent Roane County. :(

oh :-(

It's too funny that you are bashing Hurley for talking on her phone in the car. It isn't against the law. Texting and driving I do believe is. Why is that bad for Roane County to have a Representative that does business in the car?

Driving while talking on cell "unsafe"

See the many entries at: (link...)

For example: "A study in which both the participants and the scientists got sloshed has shown that motorists who talk on cell phones while driving are as impaired as drunk drivers" ((link...)).

It is not about the law; it is about safety and setting an example.

So far, Rep. Hurley does not need any help in "bashing" herself; she does a good job of it all alone.

She deserves no slack

Early on, I encouraged those who view this site to cut her a break because she was brand new to the office and had lots to learn. Instead, she has shown all the traits of partisan politics without regard to the wishes of her constituents. She appears to be on a big headed power trip, spurred on by the Tea Party activists who helped get her elected. She'll be terribly surprised when the majority of her own party moves their support elsewhere. Sooner or later there will be no more coat tails to ride on!
