We rode through Beautiful downtown Rockwood this evening and stopped to listen to some fine Bluegrass coming out of the speakers on the street.

We had someplace to be so we couldn't stay but it looks to be a good way to spend a Friday evening. I hope I can find the time to join in the community fun one of these weeks.

Yonder Holler sounds good for the Calendar here

I don't know enough about Yonder Holler to properly post it, but maybe someone else does. :)

Yonder Hollow

Thanks for the mention. Our doors open at 5:30 with music starting at 6:30 until ? every Friday. It is accoustic, bluegrass and gospel, just no electric instruments. We have 200 chairs, and plenty of other areas for "jamming", three restrooms and refreshments. Also two wide screen TV's behind the stage for additional viewing. No performers are paid and we never know who will show up. Tonight, 11-10-07 Sammy Adkins ( of Ralph Stanley fame) was there with his band from Sandy Hook, Ky. This a first rate band who travels the world. I was fortunate enough to play bass for them. Alex Leach from WDVX was there also as well as some local favorites. It is good, clean family entertainment....Ray Collett

Ray Collett: Thanks, and a question :)

Ray Collett,

Thanks for the info! Also, where is this exactly? I am still unclear as to the address.

Did you know you can add these events to the Calendar here yourself? In your "Ray Collett" menu in the left-hand column, choose "Create content," then "Event," then fill in the "Submit Event" form and click on the Submit button.

Yonder Hollow scrolled off the Calendar countdown :(

I hope you will be changing the dates so Yonder Hollow is in the Calendar every week, not just that once. :)

Is Alex Leach still 12 years

Is Alex Leach still 12 years old?

It's good to see some name talent coming through town on a Friday night. It's a good venue and I hope things continue to grow. Interesting to see there were nearly no places to park on the main drag in Rockwood at night. I guess they had to roll the sidewalks back out for folks.

What is the cost of the evening?

They have a donation box, but there is otherwise no charge.
