You guys may have read the excerpts I posted from John Muir's journal as he walked through Roane County in September of 1867. Ken Burns has a new series on America's National Parks that highlights Muir's contributions and those of many others. It played earlier today but will replay at 8 tonight and again later. It's a must view. Here's the link.

The wisdom of John Muir is valid today. His walk to the Gulf that took him through Roane County was mentioned on the program. We should have some local celebration of Muir.
Great stuff.
The shows are also being streamed for a time after the original broadcast, on the original posted link at PBS dot org.
