Tucked into the KNS story is this response to a lobbyist for the American Coal Ash Foundation...

The Kingston spill was caused by regulatory neglect, a lack of government oversight and "irresponsible coal ash practices," said U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas, the subcommittee's chairwoman.

Honorable Eddie Bernice Johnson - is RIGHT

Representative Johnson thoroughly gets it and she is the Chair of the US House of Representatives Subommittee on Water Resources and Environment.

Not sure other members of the same committee "get it" but it is nice to know the Chair gets it and she clearly stated "Fly Ash is hazardous" at the 03/31/09 testimony.

And, at the 03/31/09 Committee testimony, Ms. Johnson desired to have monthly hearings on this subject. Honestly, I expected to see a hearing in two months. This is encouraging, in my opinion.

Thank you to the Committee - the staffers of the Committee - as they are all to be commended for their dedication to the subject of coal ash, storage, hazardous health condtions.

We are making progress with our environment.
