The Southwest Point Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is having a "HOEDOWN" on Saturday, September 27, from 6 until 10 pm at Fort Southwest Point in Kingston.

The Hoedown features live music from two bands, one bluegrass and the other country. There will be dancing, a cakewalk, kids' games, and lots of fun for the whole family. Refreshments will be served, including pinto beans, cornbread, hot dogs, drinks, and desserts.

The cost of admission is $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for children under 12. There will be a separate cost for the food also.

Bring a chair if you want to have a seat. Fun includes square dancing, line dancing, duck pond, face painting, ganes, and music.

Most of the proceeds will go to Kingston's "Redbud Tree Project."

Historic Fort Southwest Point is located at 1225 South Kentucky Street in Kingston, about 1.5 miles south on Highway 58 from the Kingston exit at Interstate 40.

If you want to help the DAR ladies set up, show up early at 4:30 PM.
