School just started. Temperatures are still in the 80's, and the leaves are barely changing colors. But, believe it or not, fall break for Roane County Schools is barely a month away. And that means five long days of no school --and hearing 'I'm bored... There's nothing to do...' for five long days.

The Creative Arts Co-op does offer an alternative for 'break boredom' - and students get to bang on trash cans in the process. 'NOIZE!' camp is scheduled to bang its way into the brisk, fall air. Patterned after the New York Company STOMP!, students study rhythm and movement using non-traditional instrument, such as brooms, poles, trash cans, etc.

Working as a team, students will develop a stage performance that will be performed on the last day of camp. 'We have held this camp for several years and have a wonderful turnout every time. The shows are amazing and entertaining, and the students get a first hand look at what they can accomplish," commented Mary Kaye Eisenberg, Co-op director.

The week long camp for second through ninth graders runs October 13-17, 2008 from 9:00am-3:00pm daily. Tuition is $85.00 for the week and includes materials and snacks. Students are asked to bring a bag lunch.
