The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation recently gave out a list of issues it had with a proposed Department of Energy landfill in Oak Ridge, including groundwater, rain and mercury and its effects on fishing.

“Until the state’s concerns have been resolved, the State cannot approve the landfill as currently proposed,” a document from TDEC stated. TDEC gave out these documents summarizing its position at an open house meeting at its office in Oak Ridge.
