Michael Brady Inc. and The Lewis Group are the finalists. Both groups are well versed in building schools, the question is which one can best study our situation and show us the best future for our children's education? Loyalties and football rivalries must be set aside and an objective decision must be made. Our schools should be at least as modern as our jails.

RCN story (paywall)

How modern are our jails, anyway?
The United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights gives these "Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners" ((link...)) were "[a]dopted by the First United Nations Congress on the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders" in 1955 and later approved in both 1857 and 1977.
I don't know if these standards are the most recent.
How does our jail in Roane County measure up?
