Election rhetoric is an astounding thing and it's not helped by the "he said, she said" style of lazy reporting we get these days. Speaking to the Tea Party, which eats political BS like strawberries on ice cream, Wamp repeated his "do nothing Congressman charge against Fleischmann by denigrating his House Appropriations Committee assignment:
Wamp said Fleischmann’s committee assignment...
So the House Appropriations Committee is no biggie because even Zach Daddy got on that one? I'm not going to try and refute the generous amount of evidence for the claim that Chuck is an under performing Congressman but let's be real here. A candidate for Congress danged sure ought to know that House Appropriations is a hugely important committee assignment. I don't you could get away with that statement without getting laughed out of the room anywhere except a Tea Party meeting.
The United States House Committee on Appropriations is a committee of the United States House of Representatives responsible for setting specific expenditures of money by the government of the United States. As such, it is one of the most powerful of the committees, and its members are seen as influential. The bills passed by the committee are called appropriations bills.
Every dollar that flows out of the US Treasury goes through Appropriations.
I get that Wamp is playing to his Tea Party audience, where he has to dumb down any message, but wouldn't he have been better to point out that Chuck hasn't done much for us with his Appropriations assignment than to dis the committee itself and his own Dad in the process? It is vital that Tennessee has a Congressman on the Appropriations Committee and Weston Wamp may have just wiped out any chance he might have had at being appointed to this Committee, even if he does get elected.

Fleischmann Not Present at Tea Party Forum
Much is made in the RCN story about Fleischmann not being there. These people apparently think their little seance is more important than Congressional duties. For better or worse, Congressman Fleischman has a very good attendance record in Congress and misses very few votes.
Congress adjourned at 3:19 PM on Thursday. As anyone who has tried to get out of that town quickly can tell you, There was no physical way for Chuck to be at the TP meeting.

I'm certainly not voting for
I'm certainly not voting for either one of them, but fair is fair. I really dislike the concept that lying is OK if it is done in a political contest. Lying is lying, and is right up there with stealing and murder in my Old Testament.
