Official Sample BallotSubmitted by Corvus on February 1, 2008 - 11:27pm.
Does anyone understand the "Official Sample Ballot" published in the Friday issue of the Roane County News ? I think I can handle it but it is kind of overwhelming for the newcomer and first time voter. It is pretty obvious that those that are still mentally competent have to decide on one of the eight candidates at the top of the page, of which only two are still in the race. Those that are brain dead must choose between nine candidates at the bottom of the page of which only four are still in the race. And there are those that are unheard of, like Tom Tanceredo, whoever he is. Then there are seventy five candidates for "Delegates at Large" of which we must choose twelve. Whatever that is all about. And depending on whether you reside in District 3 or District 4, there are either twenty four or eleven "Committed and Uncommitted" Delegates of which you must choose three. "Committed","Uncommitted" ?? I think only the "brain dead" residents have to fool with all this Delegate stuff. This is an overly complicated mess for a simple choice between two groups of candidates. And be sure to press the CAST BALLOT until you see the waving American flag.
