It is disgusting to me that the VA issue has become a political football to kick around. In February there was little outrage when senators like Lamar Alexander voted against the Comprehensive Veterans Health and Benefits and Military Retirement Pay Restoration Act of 2014 (S.1982). This is a bill that nearly every veterans' group in the country supported. Now the headlines are full of the same senators who voted against getting the VA back on track, waving the flag, calling for heads, and quick to sponsor legislation that might give them cover for their failures of the past but do little to fix the problems.
