Did you watch Obama's Speech?

Submitted by WhitesCreek on August 29, 2008 - 7:30am.

The folks I've talked to in Denver are coming back with a huge smile on their faces. Democrats have the strongest presidential candidate in years and Republicans have the weakest. But where does our local Democratic Party stand? Are they ready to get to work? Are they ready to lead?

If you missed it, or like me want to watch it again and again, here is Obama's speech.

Not sure where local Democrats are putting their money at least

Pitifully few donors are showing up in this year's donor lists, for example at Huffington Post's FundRace feature. See Link... (37854), Link... (37763), and Link... (37748).

Note that many of the donors who gave in 2004 aren't showing as having stepped up to give reportable amounts this time around. And a good percentage this election only show as having given to Clinton, not to the DNC or Obama. :(

It's very not accurate, OneT

I promise you that Somebody we both know would be a big hitter on that list and that person is not listed. I think things are better than this looks.

This is a great resource, though. Thanks for posting it. It may be that donations came after the reporting period for this site and that it will look very different later. I plan to max out for Obama, just so you know.

That is good to know, WC

Way to go, WC! :)

That Fundrace site is the freshest I've found so far at least. Donations given at barackobama.com seem to show up about monthly.

Do you know a better one?

Try this one

This is what I usually look at but I haven't had time to really check it out this election cycle.

That other one has even fewer 2008 entries

Thanks, WC! However, for the time being I guess I'll stick with Fundrace. :)

Even Fundrace isn't working tonight--maybe a holiday update?

It's been fine for over a year.
